This new side guard facilitates easier transfers as it can be flipped back and out of the way yet stays with the chair to prevent them from getting lost or damaged as can happen with removable styles. Another advantage is that they can be easily added as an aftermarket part and are adjustable in height to be even with the tire or above in increments of ½”.
