From April 22nd - 25th, one of the longest and largest handcycle races -- the Clocktower Classic and the Athens Twilight Criterium -- took place in Rome, Georgia and Athens, Georgia. Large crowds and an elite field of athletes from all over the USA participated, including members of the USA Paralympic team who competed in Beijing. In the Clocktower Classic in Rome, GA -- also a UCI event -- David Randall (Paralyzed Veterans Racing) won the HCB Time Trial and the overall race in his stock Top End Force, while Todd Richardson (CSP / Invacare) won the road race in the brand new Top End Force R. Carlos Moleda (CAF) was 2nd overall in the Men's HCCL race, also racing in a Force R. Monica Bascio (USHF / Invacare) won all three women's races relying on the climbing prowess of the Top End Force K "Para Kneeler." Chris Peterson (Invacare / Top End) and Krige Schabort (Invacare / Top End) finished 2nd and 3rd overall, respectively in the HCCK category, riding the new Force K kneeling bikes.
