On August 29 - 30, handcyclists competed on the same Time Trial course as the biggest names in pro cycling for the US Handcycling Series Finale.  Held in Greenville, SC, the US Professional Time Trial and Road Race Championships doubled as the 2009 US Handcycling Series Finale, which was presented by Paralyzed Veterans.

 

Team Invacare's Matt Updike, Geoff Hopkins, Krige Schabort and Chris Peterson all medaled in the TT event within their divisions (see the USHF website for full details). On Sunday the handcyclists raced a criterium in front of a huge crowd of more than 20,000. Overall, Team Invacare had great results as Peterson was the HCC kneeseat TT winner and 2nd in the criterium, Schabort the HCC longseat winner both days, and Updike the HCB winner both days. Pretty cool that the handcyclists raced before men's Pro and the winners were Zabriskie and Hincapie.
